What is a Keyword?

As a simple definition, a keyword is a word or phrase that a visitor enters into a search site such as Google, Yahoo, Bing etc., to find information or products they are interested in.

As an Internet Marketer, discovering the correct keyword(s) to use on your web pages is THE most important research that you will undertake. These are the money words that will deliver to you, targeted visitors. Once you have these visitors, your web page must close the sale, or at the very least it must pre-sell the product or service, before you direct the visitor off site, through your affiliate link, to make their purchase and your commission. Niche Marketing – Part One

First off, what is a niche?

In simple terms, if you can imagine that everything that could possibly be sold, anywhere on our planet, was written into a book, then a niche can be defined as anything from a chapter in that book, right down to a single word or letter even.

From this analogy you can see that the larger niches are nearly always made up of smaller niches (chapters, pages, paragraphs, sentences, words all made up from letters). In general, the larger the niche, the harder it is to target successfully because large niches are very difficult, and usually expensive, to get your website rated for as you will be competing with large national and international companies.
