Automated social bookmarking software – for many webmasters and Internet marketers (myself included) this has been a pipe dream for a very long time. Nowadays though, some of those dreams have become a reality.

As an Internet marketer you will have realized by now that the key to your online success is TRAFFIC. A rubbish web site that gets lots of traffic will be more successful than the best designed site in the world that gets no traffic.

Plain and simple … TRAFFIC = SUCCESS.

A couple of years ago traffic was easy. It was mostly about “on-site optimization”, i.e. the things that you can do to the HTML code on your own page/site. Basically the process was to bang up a page, sprinkle it to death with your keywords, and the search engines of the time would give you good rankings.

The article marketing strategy (also recently become known as the “Bum Marketing Method”) is a powerful one, as it provides a “dual benefit”.

What do I mean by a “dual-benefit ?

There are 2 primary outcomes of any marketing effort that you make – traffic and back links. For example, using Google Adwords will get you traffic, but no backlinks … whereas, submitting your site to directories and portals will get you back links, but almost no traffic.

Article marketing however can get you both, because the search engines love some of the top article directories at the moment, and it is not too tough to rank an article high up in the SERP’s for a given keyword combo.

The result is often a nice, high value, back link from your article on the article directory, and also the traffic that results from your article being well ranked in the search engines. Read the rest of this entry
